The trough has a capacity of approximately 350 US gallons (with a 2-inch freeboard) and can water up to 6 cows at once, making it an efficient solution for grazing operations that need a robust, easy-to-manage watering system.
Constructed from 3/16 inch welded mild steel plate, this trough features flat ends and sloped sides, designed for strength and stability. Measuring approximately 8 feet long, 2 feet high, and 4 feet wide at the top, tapering to 3 feet at the base, the trough is both spacious and practical for livestock use.
To ensure protection against damage from livestock or vandals, both the inlet and outlet piping are positioned underneath the trough. The overflow drain is welded to the outflow end plate, ensuring proper drainage. The trough is reinforced with iron braces welded at both the width and length, adding extra strength to the top edges.
For wildlife safety, the trough includes a “critter escape” on two of the four inside corners. This feature provides small mammals with a way to escape if they fall into the trough, promoting eco-friendly management of the watering site.
